Livermore Quarry

Map     Satellite

Within the area of this large and active quarry are a number of freshwater ponds in abandoned quarry pits. During the breeding season there is a particularly heavy concentration of the tiger salamander, Ambystoma tigrinum, which live elsewhere but come to these ponds to breed.

Integrity: The ponds have been created by quarrying.
