>Map >Satellite The dominant vegetation in the area is chaparral typical of the lower western slopes of the central Sierra, with such species as chamise, Adenostoma fasciculatum, coffeeberry, Rhamnus californica, Ceanothus tomentosus, and whiteleaf manzanita, Arctostaphylos viscida. Several rare plants are found in or near the area, including Senecio layneae, Wyethia reticulata, Ceanothus roderickii, and Calystegia stebbinsii. There are gabbro outcrops in the area. Integrity: Portions of the area are adjacent to a major highway and others have been subjected to some development. Use: Research, educational, observational. Portions are private. May 1977
