Kings River: Centerville - Minkler Area

>Map     >Satellite

Along this stretch of the Kings River is a good example of the Central Valley alluvial flood-plain association. The dominants include the valley oak, Quercus lobata, sycamore, Platanus racemosa, and, closer to the river, white alder, Alnus rhombifolia, and Oregon ash, Fraxinus latifolia.

Animal life is comparatively abundant.

Integrity: Most of the riparian area is relatively undisturbed, though there are farmlands immediately adjacent and there has been some flood-control activity.
