Mill Creek Carpenteria Area

>Map     >Satellite

Approximately 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) east of Backbone Creek Research Natural Area and 5 kilometers (3 miles) north of the Carpenteria Botanical Area, this area also supports an excellent stand of the narrow endemic Carpenteria californica.

Soils here are derived from underlying granitic rock.

An intermittent creek bisects the area.

Integrity: A highway traverses the southern portion of the area and there is also a dirt road; however, the vegetation is in excellent condition.

Use: Research, educational, observational.
