Oil City Oil Seeps

>Map     >Satellite

Oil Canyon and the surrounding hills are covered primarily by a valley grassland community with Atriplex spinifera and numerous native and exotic grasses.

The endangered San Joaquin kit fox, Vulpes macrotis mutica, may be present in the area.

Near the eastern end of the canyon are oil seeps.

Ammonites and a variety of other Cretaceous marine fossils are found here.

Integrity: The area is highly disturbed by oil production and some grazing.

Use: Private
