>Map >Satellite The entire drainage area of the Little Lost Man Creek, some 6.4 km. (4 miles) in length, is typical slope redwood forest. In addition to the redwood, Sequoia sempervirens, there is Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, tan-oak, Lithocarpus densiflora, madrone, Arbutus menziesii, and chinquapin, Chrysolepis chrysophylla. The understory includes red huckleberry, Vaccinium parvifoliurn and California huckleberry, Vaccinium ovatum, salal, Gaultheria shallon, California rose-bay, Rhododendron macrophyllum, as well as many herbs. Integrity: Undisturbed redwood - Douglas fir forest. For a short distance from Highway 101 a dirt road parallels the creek. Use: Lying entirely within the Redwood National Park, this area has been designated a research natural area on the master plan. The plan has not as yet been approved. January 1975
