>Map >Satellite In this relatively flat area are a number of sandstone concretions exposed by the weathering of the surrounding non-concreted Quaternary nonmarine terrace deposits. These concretions, possibly of Tertiary lake-deposit origin, are found varied in shape, with many taking an oblate or full spheroid form; hence, the name. Sizes range from a few centimeters to several meters in diameter. The concretions are in varying stages of erosion. Vegetation is sparse, primarily creosote bush scrub but with some dry-wash riparian in the watercourse. Integrity: Off-road vehicles have caused some damage and many of the portable concretions have been removed. Use: Private December 1976
