Map Satellite Several habitats are found in proximity in this relatively small area. On the slopes the dominant vegetation is a mixed chaparral community with chamise, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Arctostaphylos manzanita and Arctostaphylos sp., Ceanothus sp., toyon, Heteromeles arbutifolia, coffeeberry, Rhamnus californica, and leather oak, Quercus durata. There are a number of plants associated with serpentine soils including the rare Fritillaria purdyi. Another rare plant, Erythronium helenae, occurs here also. During some years there is an outstanding display of the chamise lily, Erythronium californicum. An intermittent stream flows through the meadow at the base of the slopes and there is a small vernal pool during the winter and spring. In addition, the various grasses, primarily exotics, Triteleia luqens and Delphinium uliginosum, are found here. There is a particularly abundant California thrasher, Toxostoma redivivum, colony here. Integrity: Direct roads cut through the area and it has been grazed. Use: Private November 1975
