Map Satellite Located on the eastern edge of Lake County, this valley is in one of the more remote parts of the county. The vegetation is dominated by an oak -savannah, with blue oak, Quercus douglasii, conspicuous. Cache Creek runs through the valley and there are several marshy areas. Animal life is rich and abundant and includes black bear, Ursus americanus, bobcat, Lynx rufus, and, during some years, the Cache Creek elk, Cervus nannodes, herd (see Cache Creek Tule Elk Range) will be found in this area. The endangered bald eagle, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, is an infrequent visitor. Integrity: Virtually untouched except for a jeep trail in a portion of the area. Use: Research, educational, observational in the public portion; the remainder is private. February 1977
