Map Satellite A few hundred meters north of the now inoperative drainage tunnel on the east shore of the lake is the Eagle Lake Field Station. The vegetation here is predominantly a coniferous forest, with sugar pine, Pinus lambertiana, Jeffrey pine, Pinus jeffreyi, and white fir, Abies concolor, the dominants. There is an abundance of animal life. Integrity: There are dormitories and some laboratory facilities at the station, as well as an access road. The area is used for botanical, zoological, limnological and hydrological studies. Use: Research. November 1977
