Map Satellite This peninsula, which juts out from the west side of Eagle Lake, is a breeding area for a small population of the Canada goose, Branta canadensis, and for the double-crested cormorant, Phalacrocorax auritus. It is also an important habitat for a large population of non-breeding white pelicans, Pelecanus erythrorhynchos. The area is sandy, with Scirpus sp., Juncus spp., and other plants providing cover. Integrity: This area is undeveloped and under protection by local ordinance. Use: Educational, research, observational except during breeding season. Ref: Anon. 1971.
