Map Satellite This point on the northwestern edge of Eagle Lake is similar to Troxel Point on the eastern shore in that it supports a good example of the typical sagebrush scrub of the region. Basin sagebrush, Artemisia tridentata, rabbit brush, Chrysothamnus nauseosus ssp., and Western juniper, Juniperus occidentalis, are the dominants. The Point, which is composed of Pliocene basalt that is exposed in numerous places on its steep sides, rises 85 meters (280 feet) above the lake. On the eastern side there is a relatively flat area of Quaternary alluvium. Integrity: Relatively undisturbed. A dirt road cuts across a corner of the area. Use: Research, educational, observational.
