Map Satellite In the midst of an arid and rough, rocky desert, with a sparse Great Basin sagebrush community dominated by Artemisia tridentata, is a lush meadow fed by several springs. The largest is Skedaddle Spring. This meadow provides an important late summer and fall habitat for the sage grouse, Centrocercus urophasianus, particularly for feeding the young. Other species found here include the introduced chukar, Alectoris chukar, mourning dove, Zenaidura macroura, pronghorn antelope, Antilocapra americana, bobcats, Lynx rufus, and a variety of other animals.
