An example of a coastal oak woodland occurs on the northern and eastern slopes in this area.  The dominant species, coast live oak, Quercus agrifolia, is mixed with toyon, Heteromeles arbutifolia.  The southern-facing slopes are covered with a mixed chaparral consisting of chamise, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Arctostaphylos spp., and Ceanothus spp., among others,

Animal life is typical of the Santa Monica Mountains. Golden eagles, Aquila chrysaetos, have been sighted in the area.

Rocks of Miocene marine sedimentaries and of the Miocene Conejo volcanics are found here.

The topography of the area is generally steep, with some precipitous bluffs.

Integrity:  The vegetation is virtually undisturbed.
