Map Satellite Much of this area is grassland but there is perhaps a third in coastal sage scrub and there is some woodland as well. The area has an outstanding grove of the Catalina ironwood, Lyonothamnus floribundus ssp. floribundus. Other endemics present include Eriogonum giganteum ssp. giganteum, Ceanothus arboreus, Ceanothus megacarpus ssp. insularis, Rhamnus pirifolia and Arctostaphylos catalinae.
