Map Satellite A coniferous forest covers the summit of this relatively high peak. Trees include sugar, Coulter and Jeffrey pines, Pinus lambertiana, Pinus coulteri and Pinus jeffreyi, pinyon, Pinus monophylla, and white fir, Abies concolor. Lupinus breweri is found here, well south of its normal distribution in the Sierra and Mount Pinos. There is a population of Lithophragma tenellum here as well as in the San Bernardino Mountains, both several hundred kilometers south of their usual range from Butte County to Idaho. Other species found here include Oxytheca parishii, Eriogonum parishii, Mentzelia dispersa, Oreonana vestita, Juncus covillei, Juncus ensifolius and Trichostema austromontanum. Integrity: A ski lift approaches to within a kilometer (0.6 mile) of the area; however, the summit area is relatively undisturbed. Use: Research, educational, observational, light recreation.
