Wildflower Wildlife Sanctuary

Map     Satellite

One of the smallest of the eight county-owned wildflower and wildlife sanctuaries in the Antelope Valley, this unnamed sanctuary is also the least diversified. (See Alpine Butte Wildlife Sanctuary, etc.) A sparse creosote bush scrub, with Larrea tridentata, dominates virtually the entire area.

The substrate is Quarternary alluvium.

Integrity: Dirt roads bound two sides of the area which, itself, is nearly pristine.

Use: research, educational, present.
