Map Satellite This small lake lies in Lily Glen, a few hundred meters from Lake Alpine. There is a small freshwater marsh, but most of the area is open water where the yellow pond-lily, Nuphar luteum ssp. polysepalum, is common. A variety of animals occurs here, including the Western pond turtle, Clemmys marmorata, Pacific giant salamander, Dicamptodon ensatus, California newt, Taricha torosa, and Pacific tree frogs, Hyla regilla. Integrity: The area is virtually undisturbed. Use: Research, educational, observational. February 1978
