Map Satellite This Wildlife Area includes a portion of San Pablo Bay between the mouth of the Petaluma River and Gallinas Creek. With the exception of some 10 hectares (25 acres) of tidal marsh at the northern end (see North San Pedro Watershed), the area is on the bay. During the migratory season this is a resting and feeding area for a number of waterfowl. Among the species present in some numbers are greater scaup, Aythya marila, lesser scaup, Aythya affinis, canvasback, Aythya valisineria, and pintail, Anas acuta. White sturgeon, Acipenser transmontanus, and striped bass, Morone saxatilis, are, in season, the most sought-after game fish in the area. Integrity: The area is undisturbed.
