Map Satellite Goat Island lies a few meters off the Mendocino Headlands and supports an excellent example of coastal prairie vegetation. On the steep sides of this flat-topped island is some typical north coastal bluff scrub. A number of birds use the area as a roosting site. There are wave-formed caves on the island. Integrity: Virtually pristine. Use: Research, educational, observational. December 1977
