Map Satellite Hardy Creek has an unusual native flora differing from that seen commonly along the coast from Marin County northward. The dominant tree is the grand fir, Abies grandis. California rose-bay, Rhododendron macrophyllum, is conspicuous and, for the first time in the coastal canyons, the Western raspberry, Rubus leucodermis, and Ceanothus incanus are present to any great extent. There is an unusual colony of the barberry, Berberis nervosa. Vancouveria hexandra nears its southern limit here. The rare reedgrass Calamagrostis foliosa is found on the rocky slopes of the canyon. Integrity: The area has been logged. Use: Private January 1976
