Map Satellite Two plant communities occur in this region, a montane forest and chaparral. The forest includes white fir, Abies concolor, Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, incense cedar, Calocedrus decurrens, sugar pine, Pinus lambertiana, ponderosa pine, Pinus ponderosa, and Jeffrey pine, Pinus jeffreyi. Other species of note include the sagebrush, Artemisia tridentata, pine-mat manzanita, Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Galium grayanum and Triteleia laxa. The type locality and one of the two known populations of the rare Lewisia stebbinsii occurs here. Integrity: A road runs along the ridge top but most of the area is in relatively undisturbed condition. Use: Research, educational, observational. December 1977
