Map Satellite Located in the arid Blind Springs Valley, this pond attracts numerous water-oriented birds. Much of the pond is open water but there are some tules, Scirpus acutus, and other aquatic vegetation around the perimeter. Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos, cinnamon teal, Anas cyanoptera, and gadwall, Anas strepera, may breed here. During the migratory season and the winter months other waterfowl, including Canada geese, Branta canadensis, and whistling swans, Olor columbianus, visit the pond. Several springs feed the pond. Integrity: Cattle heavily graze the adjacent meadow. Use: Private December 1979
