Map Satellite Close to the main highway, this quaking aspen, Populus tremuloides, grove is an excellent representative of the aspen forests in the County. These rather extensive groves, which border Virginia Creek northward for approximately 3 kilometers (1.5 miles), are interspersed with clumps of willow, Salix sp., along the creek. The groves are surrounded primarily by sagebrush scrub. Integrity: The surrounding grassy area is heavily grazed by sheep and cattle. A road traverses the southern end of the area. Use: Research, educational, observational, light recreational. July 1976
