Map Satellite Near the mouth of Hot Springs Canyon are a number of hot springs forming a series of small, sometimes multicolored, pools of lukewarm to hot water along the top of a low bluff. In the immediate vicinity of the springs the ground is encrusted with a white, alkaline precipitate that forms miniature, coral-like formations. Vegetation here is sparse and consists of sedges, Cyperus sp., and grasses. In the area surrounding the springs the vegetation is Great Basin sagebrush scrub, with Artemisia tridentata dominant. Integrity: The area is relatively undisturbed, though the fragile encrustations have been broken, in many places, by feet or hooves. Use: Private January 1981
