Map Satellite Lying immediately to the north of the main body of Elkhorn Slough, this freshwater slough is an integral part of the Elkhorn complex. A portion of the area is open water, but much of it is fringed with bulrushes, Scirpus spp., cattail, Typha spp., and, in the slightly higher ground, Juncus spp. and Carex sp. are conspicuous. This area is used by the migratory waterfowl, though not to the degree that Elkhorn enjoys; however, it supports a unique fauna. The watershed of the Slough is less than 300 hectares. Integrity: There is some grazing adjacent to the slough and agricultural lands are encroaching. Use: Private March 1976
