Crocker Grove Area

Map     Satellite

This is the largest of the natural groves of the rare Monterey cypress, Cupressus macrocarpa, which is known from only a very restricted area along the coast between Point Cypress and Pescadera Point, and across Carmel Bay in the Point Lobos State Reserve.

In this grove are some very tall old cypresses, on a rather level area. They are not subject to wind erosion as are those along the shoreline.

Integrity: A residential development borders the area.

Use: Private; it is, however, along the 17-Mile Drive and is one of the scenic points noted in the brochure.
