Map Satellite Burned over in the 1977 Ventana fire, this area was primarily chaparral, with some grassland and stands of the Santa Lucia fir, Abies bracteata. Several Santa Lucian endemics occurred here, including the rare Sidalcea hickmanii ssp. hickmanii and Malacothamnus palmeri var. lucianus. The latter is known from only this area.
Integrity: Almost entirely burned over in the fire.
Use: Research, educational, observational; some private inholdings.
