Map Satellite Three major plant communities are found in this area, a redwood - Douglas fir forest, chaparral and coastal sage scrub. The southernmost stand of redwoods, Sequoia sempervirens, occurs here, scattered over about 4 hectares (10 acres) in the southerly portion of the area. Integrity: A portion of the area was burned in 1970. Some of the redwoods were destroyed but there is regrowth. Use: Research, educational, observational. January 1978
