Map Satellite Lying downstream from adjacent Bull Island and next to a salt-evaporating pond, this is one of the largest relatively undisturbed tidal marshes in the Napa River floodplain. Along the river are narrow mudflats which give way to a bulrush, Scirpus robustus, and cattail, Typha sp., dominated marsh. There is a small upland area with several live oak, Quercus agrifolia, and coyote bush, Baccharis pilularis, evident. Both the endangered California clapper rail, Rallus longirostris obsoletus, and the salt-marsh harvest mouse, Reithrodontomys raviventris, may be observed in this area. Integrity: Relatively undisturbed though it borders on the Napa County Airport. There is an abandoned building near one corner. Use: Private February 1976
