Map Satellite Milliken Canyon is a steep-sided canyon with several communities represented. On the more level areas at the top of the canyon and near the reservoir there is a chaparral and oak, Quercus spp., mixture. Below the dam, on the floor of the canyon, there is a mixed evergreen association with bay, Umbellularia californica, and possibly with redwood, Sequoia sempervirens, and, in the riparian association, big-leaf maple, Acer macrophyllum. On the steep walls of the canyon are a number of seeps with a variety of mosses. Whipplea modesta and Spiranthes romanzoffiana are abundant on the lower slopes. Integrity: There is a reservoir with an access road but, as the area is closed, the vegetation is virtually undisturbed. Use: Access restricted. Some private. January 1977
