Map Satellite At the point where Redwood Creek nears its flood-plain is a steep-sided canyon. Here is an excellent example of the riparian vegetation of the County. The dominant is the white alder, Alnus rhombifolia, with rushes, Juncus spp., in abundance. The creek has cut through the Cretaceous marine sandstone. Exposed is the vertical tilt of the beds. Integrity: A road cuts through the area and there are houses at both ends; however, the intermittent creek supports a relatively undisturbed community. Use: Private January 1977
