Map Satellite In this area is a sphagnum bog which supports one of the southernmost colonies of the California pitcher plant, Darlingtonia californica. The sundew, Drosera rotundifolia, has been reported from the area. Other plants include the Sierra laurel, Leucothoe davisiae, and Tofieldia occidentalis ssp. occidentalis. The rare Phalacroseris bolanderi is also found here. Surrounding the bog is a transition red fir - yellow pine, Abies magnifica - Pinus ponderosa, forest. Water in the bog is acidic. Though there is a great deal of seepage, there is also running water. Integrity: The forest has been burned and is far from regenerated. Some grazing has taken place. Use: Private August 1976
