Map Satellite Sand and sandy silt compose the bottom of much of the Bay. Rocky headlands offer protection from most swells, thus this is one of the very few areas in California where there is an eel grass, Zostera marina, community occurring on an open coast. There is an abundant and diverse fauna found in the eel grass stands. Integrity: Access to the beach is controlled by the property owners association and there is little possibility of further development that would destroy the stands. Use: Research, educational, present recreational. November 1975
