Map Satellite To the north of the National Wildlife Refuge on the Naval Weapons Depot at Anaheim Bay is a disturbed remnant of the coastal sage scrub that once occupied much of the alluvial plains near the river mouths in the County. In this area, though there are numerous exotics, the coastal sage scrub appears to be regaining its former dominance. Integrity: Ammunition bunkers and a road flank the area, and there are some railroad lines and roads within the confines. All of the area has been disturbed and there is some fill. Though the quality is low, this area is one of the few, if not the only, relatively extensive expanses of flood-plain coastal sage scrub in the region. Use: Restricted. March 1977
