Map Satellite Within this park is a former quarry, known as the Emery borrow pit, which has yielded a number of marine and nonmarine fossils of Pleistocene. The principal fossils are Pleistocene vertebrates of the Rancho La Brean fauna. (See Rancho La Brea Tar Pits.)
