Map Satellite Not far from Lincoln, on a creek in the rolling valley grassland, there is an important great blue heron rookery, one of the dwindling number in the Sacramento Valley. The vegetation is riparian and includes valley oak, Quercus lobata, white alder, Alnus rhombifolia, the non-native osage orange, Maclura pomifera, willows, Salix spp., elderberry, Sambucus mexicana, and blackberry, Rubus sp. Approximately 150 great blue herons, Ardea herodias, have been seen in the area. Other birds in the area include golden eagle, Aquila chrysaetos, and the great horned owl, Bubo virginianus. Integrity: Cattle feed in the vicinity. Use: Private March 1976
