Map Satellite Dominated by mesquite, Prosopis glandulosa var. torreyana, and with a salt bush, Atriplex sp., present, this tract is typical of the disappearing habitat of many Coachella Valley species, A variety of animal species is found in this sandy area, species that have adapted to the harsh conditions of desert living. Two reptiles of limited distribution are found in this area, the Coachella Valley fringe-toed lizard, Uma inornata, and the flat-tailed horned lizard, Phrynosoma m'calli. The former occurs only in the Coachella Valley; the latter is found in the Valley and further southeast. Integrity: Bounded by an aqueduct and various ranches and subdivisions, the area is relatively undisturbed, though development could take place. Use: Private May 1975
