Map Satellite This small area contains several vernal pools with the associated community. Dichelostemma capitatum, Triteleia laxa, and Brodiaea minor are found here. There are some blue oaks, Quercus douglasii, on the margins. The soil is derived from a Plio-Pleistocene non-marine sedimentary rock and is virtually impervious to water. See Phoenix Airfield, which overlaps in part. Integrity: At present the pools are relatively undisturbed, but development is pending. Use: Research, educational, observational. Ref: Hannibal, L.
