Map Satellite In this area are found some vernal pools (see Fair Oaks Bald Spot) representative of the most diverse type in Northern California. Additionally, there is an excellent oak woodland as well as some grassland. During the spring there is an outstanding wildflower display in the area. Among the species in the vernal pools association are Dichelostemma capitatum, Triteleia laxa, Brodiaea minor, Downingia bicornuta, Downingia pusilla, Ranunculus bonariensisvar.trisepalus, and Lilaea scilloides. The Orcuttia viscida is also found here. The oak woodland is dominated by blue oak, Quercus douglasii, and valley oak, Quercus lobata. Exotics constitute the bulk of the grassland species. Integrity: Apart from the airport development, much of the area is relatively undisturbed, though development is pending. The area is one of the few undeveloped plots in the city of Fair Oaks. Use: Research, educational, observational. Portion is private. August 1976
