North Harper Dry Lake (ACEC)

This Area of Critical Environmental Concern  (ACEC) consists of  two  parcels  between one  and two kilometers  (0.5  to 1.2 miles)  north of Harper Dry Lake.

The  area  is  sandy and  the  dominant plant  is the creosote  bush, Larrea tridentata.   Eriophyllum mohavense, a threatened plant species, occurs here.

Integrity: There  are  several  dirt  roads  in the area. Off-road-vehicle activity has caused  some damage to the vegetation.

Use: Research, educational, observational.
