Purisima Hills Bishop Pines

MAP     Satellite

Wearing the southern end of its range in the State, this grove of Bishop pine, Pinus muricata, is one of the better developed in the county.  Here the trees are clothed in boughs almost to the ground and are well spaced on the dry hills.  Coastal sage scrub and grassland are also present on the site.

Integrity:  There are dirt roads in the area and the western edge is bounded by Highway 1; however, the stand is virtually intact.

Use:  Private
