Sims Coulter Pine Grove
Map SatelliteA fine stand of the Coulter pine, Pinus coulteri, is found here, one of the best on the seaward slopes of the Santa Ynez Mountains. It is probably a relict stand.
Much of the area is in chaparral composed of Ceanothus spp., Arctostaphylos spp., etc. Madrone, Arbutus menziesii, is also present.
Integrity: A lodge and a few permanent cabins exist on the site, but the stand is undisturbed.
Use: Private
