Map SatelliteLocated in the Santa Cruz Mountains, this area supports an extensive mixed-conifer forest as well as some grasslands and chaparral.
The forest includes Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, madrone, Arbutus menziesii, California bay, Umbellularia californica, and redwood, Sequoia sempervirens. Coast live oak, Quercus agrifolia, occurs in the forest as wall as in the open grasslands.
Animals, which are relatively abundant, are typical of the region.
Integrity: There has been some logging in the area and grazing has taken place.
