Sierra Valley - Sierraville East
Map SatelliteIn this section of Sierra Valley a number of intertwining streams form a wetland. The dominant vegetation is sedge, Carex spp., with some Juncus sp.
A number of Great Basin species as well as Sierra and valley species are found here, such as Camassia quamash ssp. breviflora, Downingia elegans, Polygonum bistortoides, Ranunculus aquatilus var. subrigidus, Sidalcea reptans and Trifolium beckwithii.
The floor of Sierra Valley is composed of lake deposits from a Pleistocene lake.
Integrity: Much of the area is grazed.
