Here, in a mixed conifer forest with Western white pine, Pinus monticola, is a stand of foxtail pine, Pinus balfouriana. This latter species, with disjunct populations in the southern Sierra Nevada and the Klamath Mountains, is at its northern range limit here.

Integrity: There is a lookout, with an access road, on the mountain. The vegetation is virtually undisturbed.

Use: Research, educational, observational.
