Ney Springs

MAP     Satellite

Interest in Ney Springs lies in the presence of bacteria which live in this highly alkaline spring with a high concentration of ammonia. The pH of the spring water is 10.9. Temperature is 10 C (50 F).

The spring issues from a fault contact between altered dacite (metadacite) and serpentinite.

Integrity: There are remains of a spa near the springs.

Use: Research, educational.
