Joice Island

Joice Island is one of the two units of the Grizzly Island Wildlife Area and lies in the Suisun Marsh. The area is primarily freshwater and brackish-water marsh, with some open water. The rare plant Cicuta maculata var. bolanderi may occur on the island.

There is a great blue heron, Ardea herodias, rookery on the island.

Integrity: There are artificial levees and the area is managed for waterfowl.

Use: Research, educational, observational, hunting, fishing.
