Jenner Pond
Map SatelliteThis marshy pond in the flood plain on the north side of the Russian River is small but is utilized extensively by shorebirds, particularly snipe, Capella gallinago, and ducks, especially the cinnamon teal, Anas cyanoptera, as well as coots, Fulica americana, and other birds.
Vegetation includes yellow pond-lily, Nuphar luteum ssp. polysepalum, rush, Juncus sp., and willow, Salix sp. The cress, Rorippa palustris var. occidentalis, which is not particularly common in the State, is found here in abundance.
Integrity: Barbed wire fences cut through a portion of the area and the borders are somewhat impacted by cattle.
