Graham Pineries

Map     Satellite

The Graham Pineries are located approximately 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) apart on a flat, mesa-like ridgetop bisected by Deer Creek. Between the two portions there is a steep slope to the creek.

Almost pure stands of ponderosa pine, Pinus ponderosa, with a grassy understory form these park-like pineries. The surrounding chaparral forms a narrow ecotone with the pine. Snow bush, Ceanothus cordulatus, buck brush, Ceanothus cuneatus, greenleaf manzanita, Arctostaphylos patula, whiteleaf manzanita, Arctostaphylos viscida, and scrub oak, Quercus berberidifolia, are components in the chaparral.

Integrity: The area is virtually undisturbed.

Use: Research, educational, observational.
